Are you taking new clients?
Yes!
However, the fit between a counsellor and a client is hugely important. In fact, the quality of the relationship between the therapist and client is one of the primary predictors of client progress in counselling! Some things to consider if a counsellor would be a good fit:
- Their credentials, training, and experience
- Their focus areas are what you are seeking help with
- Their personality and lived experiences, as these can make the therapy space comfortable to relate, open up, and be vulnerable

Where did the name Blackberry Counselling come from?
Funnily enough, a dream!
After the idea came to her in a dream, Jenn looked up the symbolism of blackberries and loved all the therapeutic connections and metaphors. Some of her favourites are:
- abundance, prosperity, and good fortune
- certain cultures associate blackberries with protective qualities, bringing good luck, and safeguarding against harm and misfortune
- the dichotomy of the sweetness of the berries and the pain of the thorns is a great metaphor for counselling, both good times and tough experiences are welcome here
- connections with resiliency and transformation
Lastly, being an Islander herself, blackberries have strong local ties for Jenn.
What days are available for sessions?
Jenn is available for in-person sessions:
Thursday all day
Fridays after 2pm
Saturday afternoons
*Virtual sessions can also take place on Tuesday and Wednesdays.
What is SYMBIS?
Save your marriage before it starts!
Jenn is a trained SYMBIS facillitator and believes all couples can benefit from doing a deep dive into their beliefs on marriage, what it means to be a spouse, and relationship values.
The SYMBIS assessment is backed by research and the report is highly comprehensive (15+ pages!) and covers areas such as marriage mindset, well-being and sense of self, social support, finances, expectations, values, sex and desire, and more.
